  • C5 Los Angeles is a five year Leadership Development Program for high performing middle and high school students from under-resourced communities in and around Los Angeles. Youth go through a highly selective process to get into the program. Youth begin with the summer after 7th grade and complete it their senior year in High School. Paintrock Canyon is the resident camp that hosts the first 2 years of the C5 Los Angeles Leadership Development Program. The camp is located in Hyattville, Wyoming on a working cattle ranch.

  • City Kids Wilderness Project operates a nonprofit residential summer camp located in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Our camp counselors live, work, and play with our campers, aged 11-16. CityKids Camp is a unique program, serving children from Washington, D.C. The camp is located on a beautiful ranch and our program is limited to 30 campers per session. Staff to camper ratio is 1:4.Outdoor Adventure Program Staff work with a team of co-workers to provide a summer adventure-based program for underserved and at-risk youth from inner-city Washington, D.C. Base camp is beautiful Broken Arrow Ranch, south of Jackson Hole. The program includes both on-site and off-site activities, single day and multi-day trips: backpacking, canoeing, kayaking, horseback riding, and rock climbing. Staffs spend time with students developing goals, creating journals, problem solving, team building and debriefing. Each staff is responsible for a cabin with 4-6 students. The primary responsibilities of the position are to develop a positive, proactive relationship with participants, be a role model, facilitate team and personal growth, insure the health and safety of all participants and the successful delivery of activities and trips. Counselors have partial days and a full day off during and between sessions. Contract includes a paid 10-day staff training.   • Work with groups to facilitate a safe and successful experience during the adventure based portions of 10 to 26 day courses; set rock climb sites and act as site manager; conduct high ropes course activities; support whitewater rafting, caving, and mountain biking days; facilitate use of ocean water craft such as motor boats or jet skis (FL only); transport crew in program vehicles; provide relief to instructors; and work with youth in-between courses. For CA only - manage logistics for groups during and between courses including managing, repairing, and transporting group gear and purchasing of food during course.
